$6.6 million in historic state grants have been earmarked for healthcare and job training in western Kentucky.
Governor Beshear says the funds were received through the state’s Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization program.
Since the beginning of his administration, Team Kentucky has received over $177 million in AMLER funding.
$2.8 million will go to Madisonville’s Baptist Health Deaconess. Madisonville Community College will receive $1.8 million.
The governor says more grants for the region are on the way.
