Saturday night’s fireworks display in Vincennes was postponed following the death of the man who organized the event for many years.
Bob Johnson was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a fireworks-related incident that happened in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
An autopsy shows Johnson died as a result of a traumatic brain injury sustained while setting off commercial fireworks.
Johnson worked for many years with the Denison Fire Protection District in Saint Francisville, Illinois.
The incident remains under investigation.
