County officials cut the ribbon for the new Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office.
The 10,000-square-foot building will be equipped with modern technology and up-to-date equipment.
Former Coroner Steve Lockyear says the new facility is over twice the size of the current office on Morton Avenue and will help with the increased demand put on the office.
The new facility is on the same property as the sheriff’s office, and plans are to move in on Monday.
The project cost around $4 million, with $3 million paid for by American Rescue Act Funds.
