A Mt. Vernon native is aboard a Navy warship built to honor 9/11 First Responders at the Pentagon.
U.S. Navy Ensign Paul Campbell is assigned to USS Arlington.
The ship is named for Arlington, Virginia, the location of the Pentagon and the crash site of American Airlines Flight 77.
The ship features a dedicated 9/11 Tribute Room honoring the 184 victims and first responders.
Campbell says growing up in a small rural town and working in the service industry taught him humility, consistency, and a strong work ethic.
He joined the Navy a year ago and serves as a public affairs officer.
