Starting next school year, there will be stricter rules for Indiana students.
Yesterday, Governor Mike Braun signed the new “Bell to Bell” law.
The legislation tightens rules on student use of phones, smartwatches, gaming devices, and other gadgets during the school day.
The goal is to cut down on distractions, help students focus, and support teachers in the classroom.
There will be certain exceptions for emergencies and medical needs.
The law goes into effect on July 1.
