An Evansville woman faces serious neglect charges following a welfare check.
When officers arrived at the Lincoln Avenue residence, they found an elderly man and his son both covered in feces and urine.
It’s believed they had been left in that condition for several days.
Investigators contacted their caregiver, Kathryn Payton, who was also the elderly man’s daughter.
She told police she knew her father was covered in feces and left him like that to “teach him a lesson.”
She knew her brother had been sick for about a week, and said he chose not to go to the doctor.
Payton was arrested on two counts of Neglect of a Dependent.
Both victims were admitted to Deaconess Hospital for further medical treatment.
