The Wabash River Bridge was closed for several hours on Saturday afternoon.
The closure was due to an incident involving a pedestrian and a train on the Illinois side.
35-year-old Nicholas Lamar of Mount Carmel was killed at the crossing near 3rd and Poplar Street.
The incident remains under investigation.
