Evansville Police Officers responded to a shots-fired call in the 900 block of S. Evans Avenue on Christmas Day.
It was reported that a man was swinging a bat and throwing rocks at a car when they heard two gunshots.
When officers arrived on scene, they saw several subjects around a black Camaro.
The driver’s side window was also broken.
According to a police report, 32-year-old Marshun Dennie threw a brick at the windshield, which then bounced and struck an officer in the leg.
Dennie is charged with battery against a public safety official and is lodged in the Vanderburgh County Jail.
