Ward’s Execution Will Go On As Planned

Indiana Governor Mike Braun will allow the execution of Roy Lee Ward to move forward.

Ward is to be executed next month for the 2001 rape and murder of 15-year-old Stacy Payne of Jasper.

Ward was denied clemency last week by the Indiana Parole Board.

The Indiana Supreme Court also denied Ward’s motion for a stay of execution.

Braun reached his decision Monday morning.

Ward is to be executed by lethal injection on Friday, October 10th.
