The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is participating in a statewide traffic safety Campaign.
The increased patrols will target distracted driving and speeding.
In 2024, distracted driving and speeding caused over 17,000 crashes in Indiana, resulting in 230 deaths.
Sheriff Noah Robinson says the goal is to prevent tragedies before they happen.
Indiana’s hands-free law, passed in 2020, prohibits holding or using a mobile device while driving.
The campaign begins tomorrow and runs through April 19.
