A woman narrowly escaped her burning home Sunday morning.
Several fire crews were called to the 9500 block of New Harmony Road just before 7:00.
The woman was trapped in a back bedroom due to thick smoke and flames.
She was rescued through a window and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
First responders attempted life-saving measures on her dog, but he died on the scene.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
