Boy Dies From Asphyxia By Mother Lying On Top Of Him

A Porter County Indiana woman was sentenced in the death of her son.

48-year-old Jennifer Lee Wilson will spend six years in prison followed with one year suspended to be served on probation.

Last April first responders were called to the home of 10-year-old Dakota Stevens.

Officers say he was not breathing and had bruising on his lower neck and chest.

Wilson admitted to lying on top of her son for misbehaving.

Dakota was 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 90 pounds.

Wilson was 4 feet 11 inches and weighed 340 pounds.

Dakota’s death was caused by mechanical asphyxia.
