Owensboro Mayor Tom Watson and other city leaders were on hand Monday for the groundbreaking of Fire Station 3 on Cravens Avenue.
Three years ago, the “Operation Firehouse Initiative” project launched a 33 million-dollar investment.
The existing facility will be replaced with a modern and efficient workspace for firefighters.
During construction, Station 3 crews will operate from a temporary location.
The new building is planned to be completed by January 2026.
