Evansville Fire investigators say it could be a while before they know the cause of the fire that destroyed the Pikes Mattress building.
They say due to the size of the fire they and the state fire marshal’s office are still working to figure it out.
The fire was the latest one of several historic Evansville buildings lost in the past few years.
Fire officials say older buildings were made of wood and don’t have sprinkler systems.
