A Jeffersonville childcare provider is facing felony charges after a child in her care died.
Indiana State Police began the investigation in July 2022 after a six-month-old was found unresponsive.
The child died later that day at a children’s hospital in Louisville.
The autopsy report determined the cause of death was due to a closed head injury sustained in an assault.
35-year-old Brittany Baylor is charged with aggravated Battery resulting in death and neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
She was arrested Tuesday evening without incident.
