The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department has released more information about the incident on South Red Bank Road.
Just before 6:00 PM on Saturday, February 20 deputies responded to an assault in progress.
The female victim told deputies that her landlord 40-year-old Ryan Hart had physically assaulted her and attempted to confine her inside by boarding up the doors.
She was able to flee and call 9-1-1.
Not knowing if Hart was still inside the home after negotiating for over an hour a decision was made to leave.
Hart was arrested over the weekend on his property without incident.
