Evansville fire units were called to the 600 block of Louisiana Street about 11am on Wednesday. Firefighters noticed smoke coming from the back of a residence. They first though it was a burn pit, but quickly realized the house was on fire, and they needed more help. The fire was out in 20 minutes. Unfortunately 5 dogs died in the fire. Four people, two adults and two children, were displaced by the fire.
