A female driving through Oakland City attempted to abduct a child Monday afternoon.
The failed attempt happened in the 300 block of North Jackson Street.
The suspect was a Hispanic female driving a blue Hyundai Elantra with a “donut tire” on the right front side.
The suspect was able to grab the child and get them into the car.
The mother was able to get her child out of the car before the driver got away.
She then threw a shovel at the car possibly leaving damage.
If anyone spots the blue Hyundai Elantra call the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department.
