The murder suspect charged in the death of James McClernon was sentenced to 75 years in prison on Thursday.
Last July, Ricky Kiper Jr. went to the home of McClernon on Maggie Valley Drive and asked for him.
When McClernon came to the door that’s when Kiper shot him twice.
Kiper told police that he had no remorse when he shot the victim because he was a sex offender.
Last month, Kiper withdrew his not guilty plea.
