It was in February of 2019 that Evansville firefighter Robert Doerr was gunned down as he returned home from work.
For more than three years, police have been investigating that murder, mostly using cell phones confiscated from Doerr’s wife Elizabeth Fox Doerr, and an acquaintance, Larry Ali Richmond Senior..
Police discovered a cell phone call between Elizabeth Fox Doerr and Richmond Senior that was deleted just moments before Robert Doerr was killed.
Lloyd was later jailed on unrelated federal firearms charges.
While in jail he confided to another inmate that he had been having an affair with Elizabeth Fox Doerr. and Robert Doerr knew of it.
Robert Doerr was shot with a Judge 45 caliber revolver.
That gun was stolen from an Evansville pawn shop.
Larry Richmond Junior, who worked at the pawn shop at the time, admitted to taking the gun.
Richmond Junior said also that he gave the fun to his father, Larry Ali Richmond Senior.
In July, a grand jury was held concerning the death of Robert Doerr.
His widow. Elizabeth Fox Doerr was arrested and charged with perjury in relation to her testimony before that body.
On August 18, 2022, both Elizabeth Fox Doearr and Larry Ali Richmond Senior were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, in regard to the death of firefighter Robert Doerr.
