Vanderburgh County Commissioner Cheryl Musgrave announced that she will be a candidate for the Mayor of Evansville in next year’s city elections.
She is a Republican, and is in her third term as County Commissioner.
If elected, Musgrave says she will bring both an independent perspective and a strong conservative sense of duty to the role of mayor.
She served in Governor Mitch McDaniel’s cabinet during his first term and has a long history of public service.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, also a republican, will announce later this month if he will run for a fourth term.
