An Evansville teen is in custody after firing a gun at an off duty police officer.
It happened around 2:00 am Sunday at the Corner Pocket on North Fulton Avenue.
The two officers were working inside the bar when they heard shots fired outside.
The officer announced himself once he saw a gun in the suspects hand.
17 year old Denali Thomas started running as authorities started to chase him.
Thomas turned and fired one shot, the EPD officer fired back missing the suspect.
Thomas was caught and arrested without incident.
He is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail charged with attempted murder.
No one was injured.
