The Marina Point dock that once housed LST 325 has been forlorn and empty since the ship moved to the city’s riverfront.
But that may change.
The Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau wants to refurbish the dock to host riverboats.
The bureau has sent a $60-thousand request to the Vanderburgh County Council to cover maintenance and expenses connected with the dock.
Bureau officials say attracting riverboats with 150 to 400 people aboard can have a huge economic impact on the city and county.
