A special observation of Veterans Day comes to the World War Two vintage ship that’s home ported in Evansville.
LST 325’s ship’s bell will ring 21 times beginning at 1:45PM.
There’ll also be a color guard, a rifle salute, and the playing of Taps to honor those soldiers and sailors who gave the last full measure in the nation’s wars.
LST 325 was at Normandy for the D-Day invasion 77 years ago.
And the area’s food bank for veterans will be set up at the Wrest Side Wal Mart today to accept donations.
And Governor Holcomb has ordered flags in Indiana to be flown at half-staff today to honor those who have their lives in military service.
