Shots Hit Occupied Apartment

Shots have been fired into an Evansville apartment, and there were people inside at the time.

Evansville police were called to the 1300 block of Shanklin Avenue early this morning.

The victims told officers they heard gunshots as bullets came through their front window.

Investigators say several rounds were fired into the apartment and one person was grazed by a ricochet.

That victim declined medical treatment.

The victims’ children were sleeping upstairs when the incident occurred.
