This is the 65th year that Boy Scout Troop 399 has sole Christmas Trees at their west-side home, Sacred Heart Church.
Lot chairman Ed Kuhn says he orders the trees in July and they are slated to arrive the Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving.
This year, the 500 trees they ordered from Nova Scotia were about eight hours late.
Kuhn says their truck driver arrived at the Canadian/U.S. border about midnight and was forced to wait until the customs station opened at 7:00am.
The troop ordered another 500 trees from a farm in North Carolina.
They arrived without problems.
Meanwhile, troop 383 is also selling trees on the East Side.
They report a brisk business, predicated on the theory that people tired by the COVID pandemic are looking for something new and fresh with which to celebrate the Holidays.
