The Evansville Fire Department is investigating a garage fire the 1600 block of West Florida Street. No one was hurt in the fire. It was reported Friday night just after 11:30.
Fire officials say the fire started from the outside. It caused severe damage to the detached garage.
EFD says the fire may have started from improperly discarded smoking materials or by an ember in a fire pit. It took less than 15 minutes to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
