Evansville police say a man is in the hospital after being shot in the back.
It happened around 3am in the 1300 block of Hatfield Drive near the Embassy Apartments.
Reports say the victim has been rushed into surgery and has not spoken to investigators.
The victim was hit in the back near his neck.
Officers say three people ran from the scene.
