Union County has enterd into a six-month agreement with Webster County to house its prisoners.
County officials say the Union County Jail would operate as closed.
The agreement means that Union County would not house prisoners — all of them would go to Webster County.
The move would enable Union County to effect significant savings.
Webster County officials have not yet signed the agreement.
