Jury trials are due to start moving through Vanderburgh County Courts on July 20, yet it will still take considerable time for a backlog of cases to be relieved.
A published report says about 180 defendants have been waiting for trial in circuit court.
Their trials had been put on hold because of the Corona Virus.
One judge estimated that it may take a year to relieve the backlog.
