Indiana joins six other states and the District of Columbia in primary elections today.
Democrat Joe Biden could grab the delegates he needs to put him over the top for the party’s presidential nomination — but his status as presumptive nominee is unaffected should he fall short.
Biden needs to win 89 percent of the delegates at risk today to clinch the nomination.
Indiana’s primary had been scheduled for May 5, but was rescheduled because of the pandemic.
Some states had postponed their primaries from as far back as April.
