Evansville police are looking for a pair of unnamed suspects in the killing of two people early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to the Conoco station at Kentucky Avenue and Riverside Drive about 4:00 am. Evansville Police Department Sgt. Nick Winsett says arriving officers found the body of a woman lying in the parking lot.
“They had several fired rounds all over the pavement,” said Winsett. The Vanderburgh County Coroner identifies her as 20-year-old Mariah Strother.
“While they were taking (with witnesses), two other victims showed up at St. Vincent Hospital. We found out later that one did not survive his injuries. The other one is going to be okay.” 20-year-old Keijuan Baker died at St. Vincent. The other shooting victim is reported in stable condition.
Winsett said it’s early in the investigation, and they are still putting together the events that led up to the shootings.
“We know that there two suspects,” he said, “but we don’t have any details, as far as male, female, height, weight, anything like that.”
Anyone with information about the shooting, or who may have been in the area, is asked to contact the Evansville Police Department or the confidential “We Tip” line.
