Inspectors who examined the Panther Creek Bridge say it can not be repaired.
It will remain closed for the time being, while officials decide on the next move.
A crane-truck apparently caused the long-term problems for businesses, residents and motorists who routinely count on the Panther Creek Bridge just outside of Owensboro.
On May 18, that truck hit the load-bearing overhead members — and State Trooper Corey King says re-opening it could take as much as two years.
King says KSP is getting lots of help in terms of finding the owner/operator of the truck, and a break in th3 case could come at any time.
