My In-laws made the road trip from Iowa to come stay with us for a few days. In that time I’ve given them the 10 cent tour of the city. Took them downtown, showed them The Ford Center, the LST-325, and Bosse Field. Basically all of the standard Evansville “must sees” (minus the Roseanne house.) When I mentioned I was taking them around town on Facebook, someone commented “you should take your Father-in-law to the Dream Car Museum.” I laughed because I drive by the museum every day, going to and from work, but have never stopped to go in. I thought that sounded like a great idea, so we rolled on up to check it out.
I was blown away, as was my Father-in-law. Not just at the volume of cars, gas pumps, and other exhibits, but the quality of the exhibits. One of my favorite cars is Vin Diesel’s wrecked Dodge Charger from “The fast and the furious.” What I loved about it is the fact that they didn’t fix it up. They left it in the crunched up shape it was in after the big crash at the end of the movie during the chase scene with Paul Walker. There are other vehicles from movies and TV shows there as well, and the collection of gas pumps is truly world class. Here’s a few pics from our visit.
Check them out online for everything the museum has to offer.
