Owensboro/Vincennes J.C. Penny Stores to Close

Company officials confirm that the JC Penny stores in Owensboro and Vincennes will close permanently.

They are part of a lot of 154 strores the beleaguered retailer is shuttering this year.

The company filed for bankruptcy protection in May.

Penny’s is the sole anchor store in Owensboro’s Towne Square Mall.

More store closings are expected this year.
