Over 100 Henderson Water Utility customers may have to pay for a technical error they say isn’t their fault.
Last summer 3600 water meters were installed across the city to improve billing accuracy and efficiency.
A letter was sent to customers explaining that a technical error from the water meter manufacturer had resulted in many meters underreporting water usage.
The city wants the customers to pay for the mistake.
One of the residents impacted has organized a petition to eliminate unjust water meter fees.
So far, over 300 customers have signed the petition.
