A highly pathogenic strain of bird flu has been found in snow geese in the Sloughs Wildlife Management area in Henderson.
A Georgia laboratory confirmed the presence of the bird flu after the geese were found dead on December 4.
Hunters and wildlife watchers are asked to report observations of sick or dead waterfowl.
The U-S Center for Disease Control says despite some infections, the danger to humans is minimal.
