Service workers at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina went on strike Monday morning – protesting what they say are unlivable wages.
Employees of ABM and Prospect Airport Services authorized strike action on Friday.
The companies work with American Airlines to provide services like cleaning planes, removing trash, and escorting passengers in wheelchairs.
The strike comes as airport officials say this holiday travel season may break passenger records.
So far, the strike has not affected flights involving Evansville Regional Airport.
