There are more questions than answers as Illinois State Police investigate an officer-involved shooting.
We do know that last week, a Mt. Carmel police officer encountered a teenager with a knife.
At some point the officer fired his gun, hitting the suspect and another teen.
The Mt. Carmel chief of police said the officer in question has been placed on paid administrative leave, standard protocol in such matters.
Illinois State Police troopers are conducting the investigation and they’re saying very little.
