A habitual traffic violator was arrested Saturday afternoon after a short chase with Evansville police.
A passerby flagged officers down to report a fight in the area of Garvin and Michigan Street.
Once on scene, they saw 34-year-old Bobby Dyson enter a pickup truck.
He sped down a gravel alley eventually crashing into a utility pole and a garage.
Dyson then ran from the scene.
He was found hiding under a bush near the crash.
Dyson told police that he panicked because he recently got off parole.
During a search of the truck officers found a silver grinder with marijuana and a scale.
