Friday night Evansville Police were called to the 1500 block of Judson Street for a possible break-in.
44-year-old Valeri Thompson was seen walking out the front door by officers.
She claimed she lived there and told police she had to get inside to feed her dogs.
A man came up to officers from the rear of the home and confirmed he was the homeowner.
He told officers that Thompson did not live there and was a stranger.
A window was busted out and there were drops of blood throughout the residence.
Thompson is charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
