The Indiana Department of Education is making major changes to the state’s high school diploma system.
The Board is working to exclude some course requirements including history, the fine arts, and a foreign language.
Published reports say the board’s new plan includes basic requirements for all students plus opportunities for students to receive specialty seals on their diplomas based on their choice of studies.
If it’s approved, the new system will take effect in 2029,
