An Evansville police car was damaged as officers tried to arrest an alleged drunk driver.
EPD got a call Saturday afternoon that Steven Espinoza was leaving the Cross Point Boulevard liquor store and was badly intoxicated.
They caught up with him at Brooklyn Place apartments.
Officers had the emergency lights on as Espinoza backed up striking the patrol car.
After that, he tried to pull forward and drive away.
He stopped but resisted officers and wouldn’t take a field sobriety test.
