The expansion of state-sponsored firefighting training locations was announced on Tuesday.
Governor Eric Holcomb and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security are eliminating “training deserts” across Indiana.
The governor announced the next five locations during a dedication ceremony of a newly built training site in Wabash.
They include Blackford, Orange, Rush, Daviess, and Spencer Counties.
The facilities will be equipped with live burn capabilities.
The Hub and Spoke training initiative has funded nine training locations.
