CenterPoint Energy has agreed to a slightly reduced hike compared to the original proposal.
In the original, CenterPoint considered a $47.24 per month increase for some residents and $63.33 per month for others depending on the kilowatts used.
The settlement drops down to around 12 dollars per month.
The Evansville City Council is one entity opposed to the settlement.
CenterPoint customers have faced the highest utility bills in the state for 20 years.
