Vanderburgh County Commissioners have found a new home for the Milton Z. Tinker organ, now residing in the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The century-old 8-ton organ will be dismantled and shipped to Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation in Elkins Park Pennsylvania.
The organ’s $4.8 million refurbishment and tuning was too much for commissioners to handle with the other improvements coming to the Coliseum.
No word on how soon the organ will be moved.
