A former IT employee for the Vanderburgh County Assessor Office has been arrested after allegedly hacking into the office’s website.
The breach took place in January.
Assessor officials were alerted to their website having functionality issues.
They were able to track the user back to former IT employee 51-year-old Scott Hunt.
A search warrant in March revealed text messages from Hunt discussing “making the map disappear” on the Assessor’s website.
Hunt faces multiple charges.
