The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a 7-car pile-up that happened Sunday night around 5:30 in the southbound lanes of I-69 north of Lynch Road.
The sequence of crashes began when a midsize pickup truck struck a deer causing the hazard lights to fail.
Without that warning for approaching traffic, the pickup was struck from behind causing a chain reaction with the other vehicles.
Two drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
