The Evansville Vanderburgh Joint Drug Task Force went to a home on Margybeth Avenue Thursday afternoon to serve a search warrant.
An investigation of the home started through complaints of drug activity.
A SWAT team arrived and the entire block was taped off for public safety when officials realized there may be guns involved.
One person barricaded themselves in the basement and another ran from the scene.
Eight people were arrested and are facing charges.
During the search, narcotics, firearms, cash, and paraphernalia were found.
