Groundbreaking for the construction of new Pickleball courts happened on Monday at Burdette Park.
The nearly half a million-dollar project will be paid for by funding through the American Rescue Plan Act.
The six pickleball courts will replace the existing four tennis courts.
The plan also includes two new tennis courts.
Included are the removal and replacement of the perimeter fence, a full tear-out, and the replacement of the asphalt playing area with new lines.
LED lights will be added, along with an acrylic top coat and a water drainage system.
The new courts should be ready in November.
